April Fool's Prank? Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa Announces Services Inside Mumbai Airport, Calls It 'No Joke'

Mumbai: Albinder Dhindsa, CEO of Blinkit, announced on April 1 that the delivery services will be available inside the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai. According to Dhindsa, the delivery is specifically for domestic departures from Terminal 2, adding that the orders will be delivered to various locations within the airport, including boarding gates, lounges, restaurants, and waiting areas after security checks. With the announcement coinciding with April Fool's Day, the post is assumed to be a prank. Users also commented on the post and called it a prank, however, the CEO replied, saying, 'It's not.' To make the announcement more believable, he added, "Through our partnership with Adani Airports, travellers can now order from a selection of 2500+ products like phone chargers, books, gifts and more on the Blinkit app. Orders will be delivered within the terminal by our dedicated team of walkers." It further added, "This is the first airport in the world to have a service of this kind, and we're excited to deliver all the last-minute needs of our customers." Not just this, on the app, Blinkit has also explained how the service will work inside the airport. Customers can place orders only after clearing security, choose a fixed delivery point such as their boarding gate, and receive their items from a delivery partner inside the terminal. An OTP will be required to complete the order, it expalined. In addition to this, the app has also released a detailed FAQ on the delivery process. The Blinkit airport store is located after the security checkpoint at Domestic Departure, Mumbai Airport Terminal 2. Which terminals support airport delivery? Currently, only Domestic Departure, Terminal 2 (Mumbai) Is supported. More airports will be added soon. Can I order before security? No. Orders can be placed only after clearing security. Which areas inside the airport are serviceable? Delivery is available to boarding gates and lounges. restaurants and waiting areas inside the security area. Can I get my order delivered outside the gate or at the airport exit? No. Delivery is limited to areas after the security checkpoint, inside the Airport only. Can I get delivery at the International Departure? No. Currently, delivery is supported only at Domestic Departure, Terminal 2 (Mumbai Airport).
