Dibrugarh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 1 April, Wednesday morning, spent time with tea garden workers at the Monohari Tea Estate in Assam's Dibrugarh before leaving for Mohanbari Airport to attend election rallies in Gogamukh and Behali. During his visit to the tea garden, the Prime Minister interacted with 19 women workers and spent nearly half an hour with them. In a symbolic gesture, he personally plucked fresh tea leaves and filled them into a traditional basket. He also listened to the concerns of the workers and discussed key issues such as education, healthcare, and wages. The Prime Minister further witnessed and enjoyed a traditional Jhumur dance performance presented by the workers. Following the interaction, Modi departed for Mohanbari Airport and is en route to Gogamukh and Behali, where he is scheduled to address election rallies as part of the ongoing campaign. Taking to X, PM Narendra Modi wrote: "The plucking of tea leaves was followed by the women talking about their culture and of course a selfie!"
