IPL 2026 Update - BCCI Broadcast Engineer Found Dead in Hotel Room - Times Bull

New Delhi: Just four days into the start of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL),distressing news has emerged -- a revelation that is bound to leave you shaken. A sensation has swept through the league following the death of a British national who was working as a broadcast engineer for the BCCI during the IPL matches. The deceased has been identified as Ian Williams Langford. He was found dead in his room at the Trident Hotel in Mumbai,India's financial capital. According to sources,Ian had returned to his room on March 29 after the conclusion of the match between the Mumbai Indians and KKR; he was subsequently discovered dead on March 30. The investigation revealed that Ian Williams Langford had been staying at the Mumbai hotel since March 24 to cover the IPL tournament. He returned to his room -- Room Number 2715 at the Mumbai hotel -- after the MI vs. KKR match ended on March 29. However,on March 30,when the hotel receptionist called his room,they received no response. Consequently,hotel staff members were dispatched to check on his room. The staff knocked on Ian's door,but when they received no reply,they used a master key to open the room. What they witnessed upon entering left them utterly stunned. Reports indicate that the body of the British engineer,Ian Langford,was found lying on the floor. The hotel doctor arrived to examine Ian and subsequently pronounced him dead. The exact cause of death remains unclear at this time. However,a report regarding his death has been officially registered at the Marine Drive Police Station in Mumbai. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter and are currently attempting to ascertain the circumstances surrounding his death and exactly what transpired inside his room. The fourth match of the 2026 Indian Premier League season will be played today. In this contest,the Punjab Kings and the Gujarat Titans will face off against each other.
