Hyderabad, Mar 31 (Maxim News): The country is all set for the census. The first phase of the process will begin from April 1. The first phase will include a household census. The Center said that 33 questions will be asked on this occasion. The second phase will collect the population data. It will begin in February next year. The Center has revealed that citizens do not need to submit any documents for the census. Registrar General of India (RGI) and Census Commissioner Mrityunjaya Kumar Narayan told the media, "This time, for the first time, citizens can register their information themselves through 'self-enumeration'. He said that the 'self-enumeration' option will be applicable only to citizens residing in India. He clarified that the house-to-house survey is going to start in several states in the next few days, and that the personal information of citizens collected during the census is confidential and will not be shared with any other organization, either under RTI, as evidence before courts or as evidence. This time, along with the census, a caste enumeration will also be conducted. The government has announced that 33 questions will be asked during the Census of Population and Housing Census, which will begin from April 1 this year. The FAQs cover a wide range of topics, including general census-related queries and questions related to self-enumeration. Similarly, with regard to house ownership status, if a person lives in a rented house and owns property elsewhere in India, whether it is their parents' house or a house they have purchased, they will have to select the option of living in a rented house but owning a house elsewhere. The Centre has released the dates for the House List, Household Census and Self-Enumeration for states and Union Territories. According to this, the 'self-enumeration' option will be available in Telangana from 'April 26 to May 10'. The house-to-house survey for the census will be conducted from 'May 11 to June 9'. Socio-economic details of citizens including migration, fertility, occupation and education will be collected. My spouse is temporarily away. Are we still considered a couple? Are cohabiting couples considered married couples? These are some of the questions included in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) published by the government ahead of the 16th Census.
