Fresh western disturbance triggers rain in Rajasthan

Jaipur, Mar 30 (PTI) Strong winds swept several parts of Rajasthan, including Jaipur, on Monday under the influence of a fresh western disturbance, with many places in the state witnessing light rain, the local meteorological department said. According to the Jaipur Meteorological Centre, a cyclonic circulation formed over western Rajasthan and its adjoining areas due to the system, leading to light to moderate rainfall activity in the state. The Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Udaipur and Kota divisions are likely to witness strong winds and isolated light to moderate rain, the weather office said. In Jaipur, the sky remained partly cloudy during the day, with gusty winds picking up pace in the afternoon. Reports of a drizzle were received from several localities in the city. The weather office said similar conditions are likely to persist on Tuesday, with light to moderate rain expected in parts of the Shekhawati region, Jaipur, Bharatpur and Kota divisions. However, the conditions are likely to turn largely dry across most parts of the state on April 1 and 2, with only isolated drizzle at a few locations, the weather office said. Another western disturbance is likely to become active between April 3 and 5, which may trigger an increase in thunderstorms and rainfall activity in several parts of the state, it said. PTI AG ARI
