New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued an advisory to schools, parents and students ahead of the 2026 Class X and XII Board Examinations, urging candidates to reach their examination centres well in advance to avoid delays. According to the official communication dated February 13, 2026, the Board examinations will commence from February 17, 2026 (Tuesday). This year, more than 46 lakh students from across India and 26 countries abroad are expected to appear for the exams. CBSE stated that examinations will begin at 10:30 AM, and students must reach their respective centres on or before 10:00 AM. Entry will not be permitted after 10 AM under any circumstances. The Board highlighted that several important national and international summits, high-level meetings and other programmes are scheduled during the examination period. Due to anticipated traffic regulations, diversions and congestion in different parts of the country, students may face travel delays. In view of possible disruptions, students have been advised to leave their homes early and carefully plan their journey to the examination centres. They are also encouraged to visit their allotted centres in advance to familiarise themselves with the route and estimate travel time. The advisory specifically requests students appearing in India and abroad to consider local traffic, weather conditions and distance while planning their commute to ensure timely arrival. CBSE has directed affiliated schools to actively assist and guide students and parents in planning examination-day logistics. The Board emphasised that coordinated efforts by schools and families will help ensure smooth conduct of the examinations. The advisory has been issued under the signature of Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller of Examinations, who reiterated the importance of punctuality and adherence to instructions during the examination period.
