JAMMU, Dec 16: Workers of Dogra Front & Shiv Sena (DF&SS) here today under the leadership of their president, Ashok Gupta organised a protest rally against the regional discrimination with Jammu which was exposed in the process of selection of Santosh trophy team. Addressing the protesters, Gupta said that around 115 football clubs are currently functioning in Jammu province producing a large pool of talent every year and for the Santosh Trophy trials, 74 players from Jammu were shortlisted and they participated in the selection process but when the final 20 member team was announced, none of the Jammu based players figured in that. "This has never happened in the history of J&K football and it raises serious questions about the credibility of the selection process," he maintained adding: "The final list was declared in the morning, selected players were informed through messages and the team was flagged off for Punjab the same day. Such haste further deepens suspicion about transparency." The DF&SS leader claimed that the selection committee usually has 7-8 members but for this Santosh trophy selection, only 1 member was there which was from Kashmir. He demanded a probe into the issue. Abhishek, Bantu, Ganesh, Raju, Kalu, Parveen, Ajay, Naresh, Tony and various others were also present in the rally.
