Thiruvananthapuram: Digitisation of enumeration forms under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Kerala has reached 99.93 per cent, with 27,832,269 forms processed so far, Chief Electoral Officer Dr Rathan U Kelkar said on Tuesday. The figures are as of 6 pm. The number of uncollectable (ASD) forms -- due to reasons such as absence, death, or shifting of residence -- has risen to 2,508,267, indicating that nearly 25 lakh names are likely to be removed from the rolls. However, Dr Kelkar said this was not the final figure, as digitisation by all Booth Level Officers (BLOs) is yet to be completed, and the actual number could be higher. Voters who have not yet returned their enumeration forms have been urged to do so immediately by handing them over to BLOs. Dr Kelkar said that during an online meeting convened on Tuesday evening, district collectors informed that meetings with political parties had been completed, BLO-BLA interactions had been held in most polling booths, and absentee-shifted-deceased (ASD) lists had been handed over by BLOs to Booth Level Agents (BLAs). He said BLO-BLA meetings must be held without delay in locations where they are still pending, and ASD lists must be shared immediately. District collectors have also been directed to post minutes and photographs of meetings with political parties, along with visuals of BLO-BLA meetings and ASD list handovers, on social media platforms. The deadline to complete the SIR process is December 18. The draft electoral roll will be published on December 23, after which objections can be filed until January 22.
