PADAMPUR: Hundreds of farmers on Monday staged protest in front of the Padampur sub-collector's office in Bargarh district, alleging gross mismanagement in paddy procurement including delay in issuance of tokens during the ongoing kharif season. The agitating farmers claimed harvested paddy is lying in the open due to the mismanagement, forcing them to guard their produce as tokens are yet to be issued. Even those who received tokens and deposited their produce at mandis alleged that lifting of paddy has not taken place due to highhandedness of the millers.
