The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested four more prime accused involved in the November 10 blast outside the Red Fort in Delhi, taking the total number of arrests in the case to six. The four accused were remanded to 10-day NIA custody, following production orders issued by the Patiala House Court's District Sessions Judge. NIA has identified the accused as Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganai of Pulwama (Jammu and Kashmir), Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather of Anantnag (Jammu and Kashmir), Dr Shaheen Saeed of Lucknow (UP), and Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay of Shopian (Jammu and Kashmir). They had all played a key role in the terror attack that killed several innocent persons and left many others injured, as per NIA investigations. Moving swiftly in its probe, the NIA had earlier arrested two other accused - Amir Rashid Ali, in whose name the car used in the blast was registered, and Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish, who had provided technical support to the terrorist involved in the attack. The anti-terror agency, which was handed over the investigation by the Union Home Ministry, Government of India, soon after the attack, is working closely with various state police forces to track and arrest every member of the terrorist module involved in the carnage. PLANNED HAMAS-STYLE DRONE ATTACKS IN DELHI The NIA's probe into the Delhi blast revealed that the accused initially planned rocket bomb and drone-based explosive attacks across high-security zones and were seeking technical experts to execute the plan. The NIA probe further revealed that the group had been working on modifying drone technology to develop a rocket-based explosive delivery system. Their intention, investigators said, was to modify drones to launch rocket-style bombs capable of causing mass casualties and widespread panic, a tactic commonly employed by groups such as Hamas and ISIS. Fourteen people were killed and dozens injured when a Hyundai i20 packed with Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) detonated on a busy road near Delhi's Red Fort. The blast occurred hours after police seized a massive cache of explosives from Faridabad-based Al Falah University, uncovering what investigators describe as a highly sophisticated terror plot executed by a "white-collar terror network".
