Belagavi: A suo motu case has been filed against 150 members of the Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES) at the Market Police Station for observing a 'Black Day' in the city on Saturday, when the Karnataka Rajyotsava was being celebrated. An FIR was filed on Sunday based on a complaint given by Market Station Sub-inspector Vithal Havannavara, who has said that more than 150 members of the MES had participated in the event on Saturday. The complainant has also identified 36 people as having observed a 'Black Day'. The MES activists are accused of holding a 'Black Day' event within the Market Police Station limits on Saturday without permission, and also shouting slogans in favour of Maharashtra. The activists have, thereby, committed treason against Karnataka, the FIR has stated.
