Saudi Arabia launches second edition of 'Global Harmony' initiative with 'India Week' at Riyadh Season | Central India's Premier English Daily

New Delhi, Nov 3 (UNI) Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Media has launched the second edition of its 'Global Harmony' initiative, kicking off the celebrations with 'India Week' as its inaugural celebration under the Riyadh Season. A key component of the Quality-of-Life Program under Saudi Vision 2030, the Global Harmony initiative aims to celebrate the cultural diversity of residents in the Kingdom and highlight their contributions to Saudi Arabia's social and economic development. The initiative underscores Saudi Arabia's commitment to inclusivity, coexistence, and cross-cultural understanding. It shines a light on the professional, social, and recreational lives of residents, celebrating their role in enriching the Kingdom's cultural and economic landscape, the official release said. This year, the Ministry of Media, in collaboration with the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), will host a series of cultural and entertainment events throughout the Riyadh Season. The festivities began with 'India Week', honoring the Indian community's longstanding contribution to the Kingdom. The celebration will showcase India's vibrant cultural identity through music, dance, cuisine, art, and traditional crafts. Prominent Indian media representatives, artists, and cultural personalities are participating in the week-long events, further strengthening the cultural bridge between India and Saudi Arabia. Expressing his appreciation for the initiative, Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, Indian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, said: "Building on the success of the last edition in 2024, this year's preparations promise to be an even bigger celebration of Indian music, dance, cuisines and handicraft, with the participation of well-known Indian artists and performers." Ajaz Khan said, "I once again complement the Ministry of Media and the General Entertainment Authority for their significant contribution in promoting cross-cultural understanding under the Global Harmony Initiative. It's an excellent effort to build cultural bridges, promote stronger people-to-people ties and reaffirm the close historical bonds between India and Saudi Arabia." The wider Global Harmony initiative will feature celebrations of 14 diverse cultures represented by residents in Saudi Arabia, including those from India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Egypt, Yemen, Jordan, Uganda, and Ethiopia, among others. The events will include concerts, traveling performances, family-friendly cultural activities, traditional foods, and handicraft showcases -- welcoming citizens and residents of all nationalities to participate and experience the spirit of global harmony.
