Chennai, Oct 28 (UNI) Hospitality major Indian Hotels Company Ltd has signed an agreement with the healthcare major MGM Healthcare Group for building a Taj hotel in Puducherry. According to Indian Hotels, the 180-room Taj Pondicherry, a greenfield project, will be spread across a 52-acre property located on the outskirts of the White Town. Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President, Real Estate & Development, Indian Hotels, said: "Pondicherry has witnessed a steady rise in domestic travel and a rebound in foreign arrivals, reinforcing its position as a key leisure destination. The addition of Taj Pondicherry will cater to the growing demand for large-scale social events in the region. We are delighted to partner with M.K. Rajagopalan for this project." Rajagopalan, MGM Healthcare, said, "We are happy to venture into the hospitality sector with IHCL (Indian Hotels Company Ltd). This hotel will be a landmark destination in the region."
