New Delhi: A tyre of an AC bus travelling on the Agra Expressway in Lucknow suddenly burst, and a massive fire broke out. Within minutes, the bus was engulfed in flames. Seventy passengers were on board at the time of the accident; all of them escaped unhurt. The fire was so intense that the smoke was visible up to two km away. Passengers and nearby residents tried to extinguish the fire but could not succeed. A fire brigade team arrived at the scene about an hour later. After considerable effort, the fire was brought under control, but by then the bus had been engulfed in flames. The accident occurred around 4:30 am on Sunday, 26 October 2025, near the toll plaza on the expressway in the Kakori police station area. The bus was travelling from Delhi to Gonda. There was a large crowd due to the Chhath festival. Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
