Puri: Odisha Police Saturday arrested two persons for allegedly gangraping a minor girl, who happens to be their niece, in Puri district, an officer said. According to Puri Police, the victim's parents had gone to attend the immersion ceremony of Goddess Kali at Biragobindpur Dakshin Bhoi Sahi under Chandanpur Police Station October 23 when the incident occurred. The accused duo took advantage of the absence of her parents, allegedly entered the house, tied up her elder sister, and took turns to rape the minor, the police said. Based on a complaint lodged by the victim's father, police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and apprehended the accused duo.
