7 injured after portion of flat collapses in Mumbai | Mumbai News - The Times of India

Mumbai: Seven people were injured after a portion of the first floor of a ground plus one structure collapsed in Madanpura, Byculla. The incident at Fanuswala Building was reported around 12.50 pm on Wednesday. While five people were treated on OPD basis at Bhatia Hospital, the other two, Gulam Rasool (24) and Mohammad Sayyad (59), were hospitalised and their condition is stable.It is a more than 100 year old building of a Christian organisation, Salvation Army. The upper floor had several residential rooms, while the ground floor was a hall. Three of the rooms on the upper floor collapsed. According to a ward official, it was a load bearing structure and the organisation owning it was planning to demolish it on their own. He added that the road-side portion of the structure had collapsed.
