Shimla: Himachal Pradesh chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday directed officials to develop an online portal for the registration of home stay units within 10 days.While reviewing tourism projects in the state, Sukhu also instructed departments to invite tenders for hiring capable software firms to design user-friendly online systems across various govt departments. Emphasising on digital transactions, Sukhu said all payments, including food bills, at Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) hotels, general administration department (GAD) guesthouses, and departmental rest houses must be made online to ensure transparency and convenience.The CM directed the empanelment of professional architects for preparing project designs for Asian Development Board (ADB) and tourism development board initiatives, with advertisements to be issued within 10 days. He stressed the need to simplify administrative procedures to promote ease of doing business and boost the tourism industry.Sukhu also suggested amendments to the proposed rules of the Tourism Investment Promotion Council (TIPC) and announced that under-construction hotels would also be included under the council's purview. To improve tourist services, he instructed officials to expedite the operation and maintenance process of loss-making HPTDC units.
