Domestic flight makes precautionary landing in north India

NEW DELHI, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- A private airline's domestic flight made a precautionary landing on Wednesday following a "technical issue" in Varanasi city of India's northern state Uttar Pradesh, confirmed a spokesperson of the airline. The flight belonged to the private airline IndiGo. "IndiGo flight 6E-6961, operating from Kolkata to Srinagar, made a precautionary landing at Varanasi Airport due to a suspected technical issue," said the spokesperson. She said the aircraft has been grounded for necessary checks, and an alternate aircraft has been arranged to continue the journey as a safety measure.
