LUCKNOW: In a shocking incident that has left the district stunned, a married woman slit her wrist inside a police outpost during a dispute over her relationship with her nephew. The incident took place on Sunday night at the Kutubnagar outpost under Pisawan police station limits in Sitapur.According to police, the woman, identified as Pooja Mishra, a resident of Harish Vihar in Delhi, had been summoned along with her nephew Alok Mishra to the police outpost to resolve a dispute over their alleged relationship. During the discussion, Alok reportedly refused to continue the relationship, following which Pooja took a blade and slashed her wrist inside the police premises, creating panic among officers present.Pooja, who is married to Lalit Kumar Mishra of Ghaziabad and is mother to two children -- Vansh (7) and Ansh (6) -- had allegedly developed a romantic relationship with Alok, her husband's nephew. Lalit had earlier brought Alok to assist him in his work, during which the two came close.When Lalit discovered the affair, he sent Alok away, but Pooja later left her husband and children to live with Alok in Bareilly, where he worked as an auto-rickshaw driver.After about seven months, differences arose between the two, prompting Alok to return to his native village in Sitapur. Upon learning this, Pooja followed him and tried to reconcile the relationship. During the police-mediated meeting, her emotional breakdown led to the self-harm attempt.Police personnel immediately rushed her to a nearby hospital, where doctors referred her to Lucknow in critical condition for advanced treatment. Her condition remains serious, and further inquiry into the incident is underway, officials said.

NEW DELHI, July 18: Bangladesh has apprehended 34 Indian fishermen for allegedly fishing in its territorial waters and India has been pressing Dhaka to ensure their safe and early return, official sources said on Friday.
