Ayodhya, October 16, 2025 -- This year's Deepotsav in Ayodhya is set to be historic and visually spectacular. For the first time ever, the entire 70-acre Ram Mandir complex will be illuminated, marking a new chapter in the celebration of light and devotion. On October 19 at exactly 5:30 PM, the temple and its surrounding 4-kilometer radius will be lit with 1,50,000 earthen lamps (diyas), transforming the sacred city into a glowing tribute to Lord Ram. Unlike previous years, when Deepotsav was limited to the sanctum and visitor pathways, this year the Ram Mandir Trust has decided to expand the celebration across the entire cleared 70-acre campus. With Phase 1 of temple construction nearly complete and several new projects underway, the Trust aims to make this year's Deepotsav more inclusive and majestic. On Tuesday evening, Dr. Anil Mishra, trustee of the Ram Mandir, chaired a planning meeting and assigned responsibilities to volunteers and staff to ensure a grand execution. On Wednesday, a team from Guinness World Records arrived in Ayodhya to oversee and certify two new world records. Advisor Nischal Barot confirmed that a 30-member team is training local volunteers and assigning responsibilities across various ghats to ensure smooth coordination. One of the highlights of this year's Deepotsav will be a drone and laser show. A fleet of 1,100 domestically manufactured drones will narrate episodes from the Ramayana in the night sky, accompanied by choreographed music and 3D holographic laser visuals. The Tourism Department has announced that the drone and laser shows will be open to the public on October 18 and 19, offering a unique spiritual and cultural experience. The celebration will culminate in the lighting of 26 lakh diyas across 56 ghats, including the iconic Ram Ki Paidi, symbolizing devotion, unity, and joy. The synchronized lighting and aerial storytelling are expected to draw thousands of pilgrims and tourists from across the country.
