Jaipur: Starting next academic session, students in Class 5 in Rajasthan's govt schools will not be promoted to the next class if they fail their annual exams in two attempts. Earlier, Class 5 students were promoted to Class 6 regardless of their results.Education dept officials said the decision was taken to strengthen the foundational knowledge of students and improve overall govt school results in higher classes. "When students perform poorly in Class 9 and are not promoted to Class 10, dropout numbers increase. The new policy aims to address learning deficits among students early on and reduce dropout rates after Class 9," an official said.

The Directorate of Education (DoE), Delhi, has officially declared the annual results for Class 9 and Class 11 students for the academic session 2025-26. The results are now available on the official website, providing students and parents with easy access to their performance records.
