Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday warned that the govt will not tolerate dereliction of duties by secretaries and heads of departments (HoDs), especially when it came to implementation of welfare schemes for the poor.At a review meeting with the chief secretary and senior officers of the chief minister's office (CMO), he directed them to review and submit reports to him every week on the performance of the departments and officers heading them, under their jurisdiction and he would review the progress.The CM expressed dissatisfaction that some officials were found under-performing and there was no change in their working style even two years after the people's (Congress) govt came to power in the state.Directing the officials to shed laziness, Revanth Reddy emphasised that the top officials should perform their duties in tune with the govt goals and objectives by coordinating with other departments. Officials should not take decisions on their own and bring a bad name to the govt. They should strive for the development of the state as well as the well-being of all people of the state, he added."All the officers should give up their neglectful attitude in implementing the govt schemes and development works. The govt will not tolerate if anyone is found neglecting his/her duties," he said.Instructing the officials to work more actively in ensuring the scheme benefits reach the people, the CM told chief secretary Ramakrishna Rao to seek reports from secretaries of all the departments regularly and review the progress of the works. The CMO officials were also instructed to bring to his attention the measures required to be taken up by the govt in the implementation of the schemes and development programmes expeditiously.Reviewing the status of the central funds, the CM instructed the secretaries to immediately take action to get pending grants and funds under centrally-sponsored schemes. Priority should be given to those schemes in which the state share has already been paid and waiting for the release of pending central funds.
