Mysuru/ Hubballi: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) vice-president VS Ugrappa has challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to clarify whether the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) functioning without official registration is patriotic or anti-national.He also questioned Union ministers on how the RSS is allowed to function without registration.On Saturday, Ugrappa told reporters, "Two major issues are being discussed across the nation -- large-scale electoral malpractice, including vote theft, and the role of the RSS, which has completed 100 years. Prime Minister Modi has given the biggest certificate of legitimacy to the RSS. On one hand, there is vote theft, and on the other, the BJP continues to rob the nation of social justice."Ugrappa criticised the RSS for not contributing to eradicating poverty or the caste system and said the organisation has done little to strengthen the nation. "Let the RSS release a white paper on what it has achieved for India's real development in the last 100 years. During the freedom movement, the RSS sided with the British and contributed nothing toward India's Independence, national flag, or national anthem. It was the Congress that ensured all of these," he added.Ugrappa accused the BJP and its allied organisations -- including the RSS, Bajrang Dal, and Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh -- of dividing society along caste and religious lines.
