Lucknow: Cracker markets across the are abuzz with excitement and traders say this season has brought along new varieties, especially in aerial fireworks to light up the night sky. Range of crackers on offer is wide, from traditional sparklers to fancy fireworks such as drones, peacock, Avatar, X-men, Doden, Rang Baraat, Red Flair, Dubai-style rockets and Colour Star. Prices start from around Rs 50 and go up to Rs 10,000 depending on the type and output.At the same time, eco-friendly green crackers, particularly those free from barium, are witnessing strong demand. "People have become more aware about pollution. Most customers now ask specifically for green crackers," said Ali Khan of Azad fireworks. "This year, anaar (flowerpot) models based on popular Marvel characters like Avengers and X-Men are a huge hit," he added.Local markets like Nishatganj, Dubagga and temporary stalls at DAV College Ground, along with several other locations, are seeing brisk business.
