New Delhi: To ensure that the city remains illuminated during Diwali, chief minister Rekha Gupta has directed the power department, local bodies and Public Works Department to ensure that streetlights across roads, markets, colonies, religious sites and public areas were fully functional and promptly repaired if needed. Chief secretary Rajeev Verma has issued detailed guidelines to all departments.Gupta has directed that people should be able to enjoy smooth traffic, a clean environment and a vibrant festive atmosphere.
