Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Higher Education department has declared a holiday on October 20, 2025 (Monday) for all state public universities and colleges under its administrative control, except those in Nuapada district. The decision was made to allow students and staff to celebrate Diwali with their families. This additional holiday is being granted in lieu of one remaining local holiday. The department has issued a notification to all concerned institutions, including university PG council chairmen, principals of government and non-government colleges, and teacher education institutions.
