Hyderabad: The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) in Hyderabad echoed with the sounds of drums and marching commands on Friday morning as 190 officer trainees of the 77th batch of IPS Regular Recruits (RR) graduated after completing 45 weeks of rigorous Phase I training.The chief guest, Border Security Force (BSF) director general Daljit Singh Chawdhary, emphasised the importance of upholding integrity and congratulated the officers for entering a proud legacy of service and sacrifice.Of the 190 officer trainees who completed Phase I training, 174 are Indian Police Service (IPS) probationers, while the remaining 16 are foreign officers from Nepal, Bhutan, and the Maldives. The batch comprises 65 female officers.Tamil Nadu cadre probationer Anjit A Nayar commanded the nine-platoon Dikshant parade, which included a mounted contingent. Nayar subsequently received the director's Trophy for Best Officer Trainee (Phase I), while fellow probationer Kirti Yadav was awarded the IPS Association Sword of Honour for Best Outdoor Probationer. Yadav also secured the director's Trophy for Best Lady Outdoor Trainee.Addressing the parade, SVPNPA director Amit Garg emphasised the academy's comprehensive curriculum, which now incorporates the recently enacted new criminal laws.
