Gurgaon: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a detailed chargesheet against YouTuber Elvish Yadav and singer Fazilpuria, accusing them of using protected wildlife for online fame and financial gain. According to the prosecution complaint submitted on Oct 13 to a special court in the city, Elvish (28) and Fazilpuria (35) allegedly featured protected snakes and an iguana in their viral videos, violating the Wildlife Protection Act. The ED claimed that Elvish earned Rs 84,000 from a 2023 video showing these animals, while Fazilpuria was charged for producing the music video '32 Bore', which showcased the same species.The chargesheet also named Sky Digital India Pvt Ltd and its director Gurkaran Singh Dhaliwal, alleging that the company distributed and monetised the controversial videos on YouTube.The ED's investigation began in May after the central agency took cognisance of two police FIRs -- one from Noida and another from Gurgaon -- both of which named Elvish under the NDPS Act, Wildlife Protection Act, and sections of the IPC for the use of animals in videos and facilitating the supply of snake venom to make opioids at rave parties.Elvish, who gained widespread popularity after winning Bigg Boss OTT 2, was previously arrested by cops from Noida in connection with the snake venom case. The veil was lifted off the venom racket in Nov last year with the arrest of five men with nine snakes and a 20ml vial of poison from outside a banquet hall in Sector 51, Noida. Members of Maneka Gandhi's NGO, People for Animals, had alleged they called up Elvish posing as party organisers and sought his help to get snake venom. Elvish had allegedly asked the PFA members to talk to some suppliers. Both Elvish and Fazilpuria have already been questioned by ED officials at the agency's Lucknow zonal office. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities scrutinising the financial trail linked to Sky Digital and its associated YouTube channels to determine the extent of the proceeds.The court, however, has yet to take cognisance of the chargesheet.Just a couple of months ago, bike-borne assailants fired over two dozen rounds at Elvish's house in Sector 57. The Himanshu Bhau gang claimed responsibility for the attack, accusing Elvish of promoting betting apps that they alleged had "ruined many households".
