Khesari joins RJD, calls for change in govt | Patna News - The Times of India

Patna: Popular Bhojpuri singer and actor Khesari Lal Yadav joined the RJD on Thursday along with his wife, Chanda Devi, saying that the entire state wants a change in the govt."Bihar earnestly wants a change... Ek baar badalne ki jarurat hai (there is a need to change the govt once)," Khesari told reporters, adding that he joined the party because he wants to be part of this change. He said Bihar urgently needs to launch steps to check large-scale migration so that families stay together.Khesari, who received RJD membership in the presence of senior party leaders Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and Abdul Bari Siddiqui, said he wants people from outside to come and work in Bihar. "I want that no one should go from our Bihar. People from Gujarat, Kolkata, and Delhi should come and work here. That's what we want," he said.However, he did not make it clear whether he himself would contest elections or if his wife would enter the fray.
