Tipper driving on wrong side runs over four of family in Telangana | Hyderabad News - The Times of India

Hyderabad: Four persons of a family, including a three-month-old boy, were killed after a tipper being driven on the wrong side of the road hit their bike, in Biknoor of Kamareddy district on Wednesday.The deceased were identified as Kishan, 54, his daughter Joslin, 28, and her two sons, Joyas, 4, and Jerson, three months old. Police said they were travelling from Shabdipur village to Biknoor. Kishan, who worked as a pastor, was riding the bike while his daughter and two grandchildren were riding pillion, when the tipper coming in the wrong direction hit them headlong at a high speed at around 11 am on Wednesday. While Kishan, Joslin and Joyas were killed on the spot, the infant was found alive and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries."The family was going to the area hospital in Biknoor to get the infant vaccinated there. A relative of the family is an Asha worker and was waiting for them at the hospital when the accident occurred," Biknoor station house officer Anjaneyulu told TOI.Joslin, who lives with her husband in Khammam district, had come home for the birth of her second child. Police registered a criminal case against the driver, charging him with rash and negligent driving causing death, and took him into custody. An investigation is on.
