Lucknow: Devotees thronged different gurdwaras in city on Wednesday to pray on Praksh Parv, 491st birth anniversary of Guru Ramdas. Guru Ramdas was fourth Sikh guru, who founded Amritsar city and composed the Lavaan hymns sung in 'Anand Karaj', the wedding ritual. Yahiyaganj gurdwara was decorated with flowers, LED lights and white curtains. Shabad kirtans were sung by priest Gurwinder Singh. Head priest Gurmeet Singh said, "At the age of seven, guruji was orphaned. He later met Guru Amardas and stayed with him. Seeing his devotion, Guru Amardas proclaimed him the fourth guru".At Naka gurdwara, a 'Path' was organised and kirtans were sung by priest Rajendra Singh. Halwa was served as 'parsad' to the devotees. Later, langar was served. At Sadar Gurudwara, priest Jagjit Singh said, "Guru Ramdas laid the foundation of Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple)".
