Curfew lifted in Cuttack officially after city remained peaceful for 36 hours: Police Commissioner

Cuttack: The curfew in Cuttack has been withdrawn officially informed Police Commissioner S. Dev Datta Singh today. However, the police has heightened its security. According to information, the police force continues to be deployed. Police patrolling has been increased in sensitive area of the city. Fortunately, no incidents of indiscipline have been reported during the 36-hour curfew in Cuttack. The normalcy in Cuttack is being restored. The curfew was imposed in Cuttack till 10.00 am today at 13 places including Dargah bazar. The internet continues to be suspended till 7.00 pm in the evening. Commissioner Singh continued that only after closing observing the situation the Internet services will be restored. It is to be noted that the railways, banks and several other government services were barred from the curfew. A group clash occurred between two groups during the Durga Puja idol immersion procession near Hatipokhari in Dargah bazar.
