Northern Railway extends train operation for passenger convenience | Central India's Premier English Daily

Jammu, Oct 2 (UNI) To meet the increasing passenger demand and ensure smooth travel, the operation of special train Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Banihal-Katra has been extended for four days in the Jammu Division of Northern Railway. "This proved to be a better option for passengers than road transport," said an official. For passenger convenience, he added, the operation has been extended for four days from October 3 to 7. The decision was taken by Divisional Railway Manager Vivek Kumar, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal, and Senior Divisional Operations Manager Arish Bansal in view of the increase in passenger traffic, especially during the festive season. The timetable and station stoppages of Train Number 04688/04687 will remain unchanged while the passengers are requested to consult the Indian Railways website or the official passenger enquiry number 139 for travel-related information, said Uchit Singhal, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu Division.
