Nagpur: The Vidarbha region recorded normal rainfall from June 1 to September 30, 2025, during the monsoon season, according to data released by the Regional Meteorological Centre, Nagpur. The cumulative rainfall in the subdivision stood at 1071.9 mm, which is 14% above the normal average of 937.3 mm, in line with the national trend. Nagpur district received 1024.1mm rainfall, about 9% above normal, placing it in the 'normal' category. As per the latest progress report, the Southwest Monsoon is expected to withdraw from Vidarbha between October 5 and 10. However, there is a forecast for thunderstorm accompanied with lightning for the next few days at isolated places. While the overall figure falls within the 'normal' category, a closer look at the district-wise data reveals variations across Vidarbha. Out of the 11 districts, five registered excess rainfall, six remained in the normal range. Excess rainfall was reported in Chandrapur (1297.7 mm, 21% above normal), Gadchiroli (1619.1 mm, 26%), Wardha (1037.3 mm, 23%), Washim (950 mm, 23%) and Yavatmal (1018.6 mm, 26%).
