Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh govt is looking to partner with New Zealand in apple and pear cultivation, said chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday.A delegation from New Zealand, led by high commissioner Patrick John Rata, met the chief minister to explore collaboration in horticulture, particularly apple and pear cultivation. Sukhu highlighted the potential for cooperation, noting that both Himachal and New Zealand share climatic similarities, making such a partnership mutually beneficial. He emphasised that New Zealand's advanced horticultural practices, including high-density plantation, orchard management, and pest control, could significantly improve the productivity and quality of fruit crops in Himachal.
