Mumbai, Sep 30 (PTI) Mumbai registered 65,441 cases in 2023 and remained in the fourth place in terms of registration of criminal cases among the metropolitan cities, according to the National Crime Records Bureau report. Delhi topped the list with 3,43,483 cases, whereas Bengaluru was ranked second with 68,520 cases and Kochi with 67,616 cases, the report said. In 2022, Mumbai had witnessed 89,098 criminal cases. India's financial capital was also in the fourth spot in 2023 when it came to murder cases. The metropolis registered 124 cases in which 125 persons were killed. PTI DC KRK
Mumbai, Jun 27 (PTI) No COVID-19 case was reported in Mumbai on Friday, the feat achieved for the first time in about two months, the metropolis' civic body said. In a release, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation also said no new or concerning variant of the virus has been detected in the city as per the Whole Genome Sequencing Report. Mumbai, Jul 15 (PTI) Mumbai has recorded an increase in malaria and chikungunya cases between January and July 2025 (till July 14) as compared to the same period of the previous year, the city civic body said on Tuesday. Ahmedabad, Sep 30 (PTI) More than 8,900 incidents of violent crime were reported in Gujarat in 2023, a little less than the previous year's figure, as per the latest National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report. The state's rate of violent crimes per lakh of population was almost half of the national rate. A total of 8,976 incidents of violent crime were reported in 2023, a decrease of 39 compared to the 2022 tally of 9,015. Mumbai, Aug 19 (PTI) More than 500 passengers were rescued on Tuesday evening after two overcrowded Monorail trains on elevated tracks got stuck between stations in Mumbai on a day of torrential rains, with over a dozen passengers complaining of suffocation, officials said. New Delhi, Oct 1 (PTI) Cases registered under dowry-related crimes saw a 14 per cent increase in 2023, with more than 15,000 cases recorded across the country and over 6,100 deaths reported through the year, according to the latest report of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB).
