New Delhi: A full emergency was declared at the Delhi airport on Tuesday morning after a bomb threat was received by an IndiGo flight from Mumbai. The aircraft was searched thoroughly after passengers deboarded, but nothing suspicious was detected. Flight 6E 762 had 200 passengers on board and security agencies found the threat to be non-specific, authorities said. Operated with an Airbus A321neo aircraft, the flight took off from Mumbai at 5.51 am. It is not known exactly when or how the threat was received but the Delhi airport was on full alert when it came in to land at 8.11 am. "A security threat was noticed onboard IndiGo flight 6E 762 operating from Mumbai to Delhi on 30 September 2025. Following the established protocol, we informed the relevant authorities immediately and fully cooperated with them in carrying out the necessary security checks before the aircraft was cleared for operations," an IndiGo spokesperson told ANI. On Sunday, the Delhi airport, along with several schools and other educational institutions across the national capital, received bomb threat emails. The CRPF Public School in Dwarka and a Sarvodaya Vidyalaya near Qutub Minar were among the targets, an official said. After thorough security checks by teams of the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, the threats were declared a hoax, providing relief to students, parents, and staff. On June 13 this year, an Air India flight from Thailand to New Delhi (AI 379) had to return to Phuket midway following a bomb threat. Officials said that the passengers were safely evacuated as per emergency protocols. The flight had departed Phuket at 9:30 am and made a wide loop over the Andaman Sea before returning to the airport, flight-tracking website Flightradar24 reported.
