Gurgaon: Three juveniles have been detained for allegedly breaking into the locked home of Olympic medalist and six-time world boxing champion Mary Kom in Surajkund's Sector 46 last week.Aged between 15 and 16, the juveniles -- all Faridabad residents -- are among the six suspects who burgled the house, police said.Faridabad police spokesperson Yashpal (SI) said, "Our NIT crime branch, along with the cyber cell and Sector 46 police team, busted the gang within 24 hours after receiving the complaint using technical and human intelligence. We will soon nab the three absconding suspects in the case." Police have recovered three LEDs, a tablet and Ray-Ban sunglasses. The gang also stole shoes, slippers, a briefcase, taps and an inverter battery. The gang stole 18 items from the house of the former boxing champion. The boxing champion was in Meghalaya to attend the 4th Sohra International Half Marathon when the police were alerted by her manager. The gang allegedly accessed the house through a vacant plot beside it and entered after breaking a glass window on the terrace on the intervening night of Sept 24-25.Neighbours first spotted a ladder placed in the backyard and alerted Kom's manager, who then informed the police. On Saturday, a team from the Sector 46 police post reached the house but could not enter as it was locked. Later, Kom's manager arrived with the keys, following which officers confirmed the burglary. Surajkund SHO Pahlad said, "The burglars climbed onto the terrace from an adjoining empty plot and broke in after damaging a window." Mary Kom, a Padma Vibhushan awardee, has not yet issued a statement on the incident. But she told news agency ANI, "I am not at home. I will know exactly when I reach home. In the CCTV footage, they (thieves) are seen taking away the TV and other items. My neighbours told me that it happened on September 24. It happened at my Faridabad home... I have informed the police."A case was registered under sections 305 (theft committed in a dwelling house) and 331(4) (house-breaking by night) of the BNS at Surajkund police station.
