Karur Stampede: The blame game in the Karur stampede has started as the death toll mounts to 41 on Monday. Actor-turned-politician Vijay's party Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) on Monday reached the Madras High Court and urged it to refer the probe of the tragedy to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The party has taken the decision citing concerns over the impartiality of the state police. General Secretary of TVK's Election Campaign Management Aadhav Arjuna submitted a plea and alleged that the Tamil Nadu government led by MK Stalin, including the police, acted in a partisan manner.
