New Delhi: Traffic will be affected in CR Park and other areas of south Delhi from Monday onwards because of Durga Puja.Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the puja celebrations at the CR Park Mela Ground on Ashtami (Tuesday) evening. Residents have been asked to remove vehicles from main roads, and authorities warn of heavy traffic across south Delhi and nearby areas.Traffic restrictions will be in place till Oct 2, as Durga Puja and Ramlila celebrations are expected to draw large crowds.Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory urging commuters to take other routes to avoid congestion.Due to the heavy footfall at CR Park, traffic on Outer Ring Road, from Panchsheel to Greater Kailash II, Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, JB Tito Marg, Inder Mohan Bhardwaj Marg and CR Park Main Road is expected to be slow between 4 pm and midnight. Vehicles will not be allowed on Gurdwara Road, Bipin Chandra Pal Marg and the internal roads of CR Park and GK II.Diversions will be in place along Outer Ring Road, including under Panchsheel, IIT and Nehru Place flyovers, and will apply to all vehicles, including LGVs and HGVs with valid no-entry permits.
