No call on medical aid: Farmers refute Pb statement in SC - Times of India

Bathinda: Farmer leaders have refuted the comments of the Punjab advocate general in the Supreme Court that fasting Jagjit Singh Dallewal is willing to accept medical aid if the Centre sends an invite for talks, asserting that no decision has been taken yet. Responding to the Supreme Court's observations that "there are some farmer leaders making irresponsible statements" and questioning their bona fides, they said, "Whatever statements we are making are according to the wishes of Dallewal." Farmer leader Abhimanyu Kohad said that farmers have high regard for the Supreme Court. "Whatever is being said from Khanauri border is as per the wishes and directions of Dallewal," he added. He further said the state govt might have stated in the court that Dallewal will get the medical aid if the central govt initiates talks and sends invite, but no decision has been taken as Dallewal is firm on not getting administered any drip.
