Hyderabad, Sep 28 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday laid the foundation stone for the Bharat Future City Development Authority (FCDA) building and the Greenfield Radial Road-1 at Mirkhanpet in Rangareddy district, envisioning it as a landmark city for future generations. Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Minister said the project was being developed not for personal or family gain, but for the benefit of generations to come. "Some people are spreading baseless allegations that I own land here. This city is not for me or my family, but for the future of our children. Just as Quli Qutub Shah laid the foundation for Hyderabad 436 years ago, this government is laying the foundation for Bharat Future City with the same spirit," he said. Reddy announced that the city would feature world-class infrastructure, including a dry port on the Machilipatnam Greenfield Highway, an underground power grid, and a proposed bullet train link from Future City to Amaravati. He said plans were being drawn to attract Fortune 500 companies within the next decade. "The government is ready to generously support the people. If there are problems, we will sit together and solve them. Don't fall into political traps or get stuck in court cases," he appealed. The Chief Minister further said that the Future City Development Authority building and Skill University would be completed by December, after which regular government activities would be conducted from the new office. He also proposed allocating ten acres for the construction of a Singareni Corporate Office, to be completed by December 2026. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, who also took part in the event, described Future City as a milestone in India's urban development. "This is going to be a city with IT, pharma, agriculture, and sports industries, along with an international stadium. Just as Hyderabad was once placed on the world map, this Future City will be a global landmark," he said. He recalled that Hyderabad was established under the reign of Quli Qutub Shah with the prayer that the city be filled with people, and said the same spirit would guide Bharat Future City's growth. State IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu said the government's vision was to make Bharat Future City a model of planned development on par with global standards. "When people talk of planned cities, they recall Chandigarh. In the future, they will recall Bharat Future City. It will be built on the concept of 'Live, Learn, Work, Play' with schools, hospitals, industries, malls, and green spaces in one place. It will also be developed as a Net Zero Carbon City, ensuring growth without harming the environment," he said. The leaders underlined that Bharat Future City would not just be a new urban hub but also a symbol of Telangana's aspirations, capable of attracting global investments and creating opportunities for future generations.
