Hyderabad, Sep 27 (UNI) Telangana Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Saturday said that all precautionary measures are being taken to ensure people do not face hardships due to heavy rains and floods in Hyderabad. In a statement, he stated that families affected by the flooding in catchment areas, following the lifting of gates at the twin reservoirs, have been shifted to rehabilitation centres. Around 500 people displaced from Shankar Nagar have been accommodated at the Shahzadi Mosque in GHH temporary shelters, while 150 persons are staying at the Musa Nagar Community Hall in Malakpet Circle. About 45 families from Durga Nagar and Ambedkar Nagar have taken shelter at the Government High School near Musaram Bagh Bridge. In Durga Nagar, 21 families moved to upper floors for safety, and 32 residents of Krishna Nagar near Golnaka Kamela have been shifted to the local community hall, where food is being provided. Similarly, 55 people from Bhu Lakshmi Temple area have been relocated to the GHMC Community Hall at Gode-ki-Khabar. Minister Prabhakar said authorities are working round-the-clock to ensure that displaced families face no difficulties at the rehabilitation centres. Referring to the sudden rise of flood levels at Chadarghat Bridge and the increase in flow near MGBS bus station, the Minister said all departments, including GHMC, police, traffic, and hydra teams, acted swiftly as per the directions of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. Passengers at MGBS were evacuated safely, and bus routes have been diverted through alternative paths to avoid inconvenience.
