Pune: The state anti-corruption bureau (ACB), Pune, on Thursday arrested a talathi of a village in Haveli taluka red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000 from a land dealer for giving him 7/12 extracts of the land acquired for the ring road projects.The Khadak police also registered a case against two other talathis from two different villages on the charge of accepting and demanding bribes from the same dealer.The ACB team laid a trap outside the Haveli tehsildar office and arrested the talathi. An officer from the ACB, Pune, said the complainant approached the Haveli tehsil office. He met the three women talathis of the three villages, who demanded bribes on top of govt charges for issuing copies of 7/12 and 8-A extracts."One of the three women already took Rs 4,000 and was demanding Rs 12,400 more, while another was demanding a bribe of Rs 6,500 from the complainant," the officer said.He added that the arrested talathi also took a bribe of Rs 1,500 from the complainant and was demanding Rs 2,000 more from him.
