Gurgaon: Two members of the Gogi gang, wanted for killing an eyewitness in the 2024 Najafgarh double murder case in July, were nabbed following a brief encounter in Dhankot on Friday morning.The suspects -- Mohit Jakhar (29) of Goyla Dairy and Jatin (21) of Uttam Nagar in Delhi who had a bounty of Rs 50,000 each -- suffered bullet injuries in a joint operation by Gurgaon Sector 40 crime branch and Delhi special cell police. Both the accused were allegedly involved in the killing of Neeraj Tehlan, who was an eyewitness in the Delhi double murder case. They had fired 25 shots at Tehlan on July 4. On Friday, a total of 13 bullets were fired at the spot, including six by the two gangsters. Vikas, a sub-inspector with Delhi police, also suffered a bullet injury on his hand. All three were taken to the Civil Hospital.Police found two pistols, four live cartridges and a bike from the accused and also found 13 bullet shells from the spot. "At 4am, the police team -- led by sub-inspector Lalit Kumar, in charge of the crime branch, along with his team, and Delhi special cell -- apprehended two wanted criminals who were wanted for multiple murders in Delhi. Both suspects sustained a gunshot wound on their legs while SI Vikas was shot in the hand. All are out of danger," police spokesperson Sandeep (ASI) said. An attempt to murder case, along with a case under the Arms Act, has been registered at Rajendra Park police station, the ASI said, adding, after being discharged from the hospital, the suspects will be formally arrested. Neeraj was the complainant and eyewitness of the killings of his two accomplices -- Ashish Tehlan and Sonu Tehlan -- in a salon in the Najafgarh area on Feb 9, last year, while Neeraj managed to escape the attack then. Neeraj also had numerous criminal cases and was a wanted criminal.Following Neeraj's complaint, Delhi police later arrested Harsh alias Chintu, a member of the Gogi gang, after he was deported from abroad last year and also booked Sanjiv Dahiya, who is believed to be residing abroad and is still at large.
