Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police, in collaboration with the Rachakonda Security Council, launched the 'Golden Care' initiative on Thursday, which aims to extend care and protection for senior citizens within the police commissionerate's limits.According to the police, assistance will be provided to them for govt welfare schemes such as pensions, medical aid, and health insurance. The initiative will also address issues such as reporting financial scams, investigating and intervening in cases of physical or emotional abuse, addressing neglect and abandonment cases, and locating lost items or finding missing individuals.Rachakonda police commissioner Sudheer Babu, speaking at the launch of the initiative, called senior citizens the pillars of strength and wisdom in society. "Through 'Golden Care', we are not just providing security, but also compassion, dignity, and respect," he said.Officials also said the initiative will provide regular outreach visits, moral support, cyber safety awareness, and SOS setup, as well as medical and emergency assistance through hospital tie-ups.
