PUNE/NAVI MUMBAI: Probe into the abduction of a heavy vehicle's helper by an SUV driver during a road rage incident in Navi Mumbai on Saturday found that dismissed IAS officer Puja Khedkar's father, Dilip Khedkar, a retired state govt officer, was in the SUV, police said.Both Dilip Khedkar and his chauffeur have absconded in the SUV, a Navi Mumbai police officer added.The heavy vehicle's helper was rescued on Sunday from Khedkar's Pune bungalow, where police reached based on the SUV's number.A case has been filed against Puja's mother Manorama for not allowing Navi Mumbai police to enter the bungalow for over an hour.Later when they returned with Pune cops, Khedkar had shifted the SUV out and let her dog loose on the premises, which charged at a policeman.Balkrushna Sawant, senior inspector of Rabale, said the helper, Prahlad Kumar (22), was abducted in the SUV in which Puja's father, Dilip Khedkar, a retired Maharashtra govt officer, was being driven by his chauffeur, Pravin Salunkhe. "Both Salunke and Dilip Khedkar are absconding in the SUV and efforts are being taken to nab them," said Sawant. Kumar was rescued from Khedkar's bungalow in Pune on Sunday.Police found the SUV was in the name of Puja Automobiles, which is registered at the address of Puja's bungalow on Baner Road in Pune.
