RIMS Seeks More Time from Jharkhand HC in Biomedical Waste Case

Ranchi: The Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) has sought additional time from the Jharkhand High Court to file its reply in a case concerning the alleged mixing of biomedical waste with general garbage. During Monday's hearing, the court granted the request and adjourned the matter for a week. Court Proceedings The case was heard by a bench comprising Chief Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan and Justice Rajesh Shankar. The petition, filed by the Jharkhand Human Rights Conference, highlights concerns over improper biomedical waste disposal at RIMS. Previous Directions At an earlier hearing, the court had directed RIMS to submit its response within two weeks. With the latest extension, the institution now has another week to provide its detailed reply before the bench resumes consideration of the matter.
