Hyderabad: Police arrested two persons, including a doctor, for possessing 10 kg of deer meat.Apart from the meat, the police also seized three pairs of deer horns, the car used for hunting, two licensed firearms and two air rifles.Police found that the accused, Dr Saleem Moosa and real estate businessman Mohammed Iqbal Ali, were allegedly involved in hunting deer in the Zaheerabad forest."The seized deer meat and the two accused individuals were handed over to the forest department for further investigation into their involvement in this illegal activity," police said.AAssistant commissioner of police Syed Fiaz told TOI that, prima facie, they had found evidence that the accused had been involved in hunting on multiple occasions in the past and had supplied animal meat to people they knew.The accused were booked for violation of the Wildlife Protection Act. Furthermore, police are contemplating suspending the weapons licence.
