Ranchi: Former Jharkhand cadre IAS officer Amit Khare has got a big responsibility. He has been appointed as the secretary of Vice President of India CP Radhakrishnan. Amit Khare worked in Jharkhand for a long time. Khare, a very honest and conscientious officer, is known for exposing the fodder scam. Since October 12, 2021, he was working as an advisor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He was looking after matters related to the social sector in the PMO. The central government on Sunday appointed former bureaucrat Amit Khare as the secretary of Vice President CP Radhakrishnan. Amit Khare was also part of the team that prepared and implemented the 'National Education Policy, 2020'. His appointment will be for a period of 3 years from the date of assuming office. According to an official order, 'The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Amit Khare, Indian Administrative Service Officer (Retired) of 1985 batch of Jharkhand cadre, as Secretary to the Vice President of India.' According to the order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training, Khare's appointment will be on contract basis in the Secretary rank and under the corresponding pay scale for 3 years. Amit Khare has served in many important positions in the Central and State Governments during his long administrative tenure. He took charge as Information and Broadcasting Secretary in the Government of India on May 31, 2018 and later also served as School Education and Literacy Secretary and Higher Education Secretary. A graduate from St. Stephen's College, Delhi and a Master's degree in Management from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad, Amit Khare is also known for his important role in exposing the 'fodder scam' of Bihar.
